LoveCycle Barcelona- 9 years of Reggaeton Vibes

Using my Urban Sports membership in Barcelona has been an incredible experience. Since indoor cycling is my second passion after CrossFit, I had to check out what LoveCycle was all about.

Gràcia, the neighborhood where the studio is located, was once an independent town within Barcelona — famous for its artisan workshops, charming plazas, and rebellious spirit. Even after being annexed to the city in 1897, Gràcia kept its unique identity: narrow streets, vibrant markets, and a soul that still beats to its own rhythm.

That same sense of community is exactly what I felt at LoveCycle. The energy in the room was HUGE — reggaeton pumping, disco lights flashing, people riding and laughing in sync, and energy spreading like wildfire.

I’ve got three years of indoor cycling experience in the same style, but I had never seen energy like this. In Amsterdam, instructors are top-tier, but the excitement and vibe of a dark cycling room in Spain? Unmatched.

Check-in & Facilities

The studio is fully equipped — a standard I’m starting to notice among premium indoor cycling spaces.

• Booking: I booked through the Urban Sports app and check-in was smooth.
• Cycling shoes: €2 rental (zapatillas).
• Dressing rooms: Packed with all the post-class essentials — hairspray, mousse, deodorant, body lotion, makeup remover — plus hairdryers. Each locker has a USB port so you can recharge (or disconnect!) during class.

The Class

The ride was challenging, full of choreography, and packed with personality. Instructors even step off the bike to dance around the room and put on a show — pure Latin style, with charisma and that “boiling blood” energy.

The air conditioning was on point, keeping the burning atmosphere comfortable despite the 33°C heat outside.

Beyond the Bike

Scrolling through their social media later, I saw they regularly host events to keep their community connected:

• Outdoor rides facing the sea
• Guest DJs
• Gift boxes & collabs (including with Oysho)
• Special themed rides for store launches
  

After my class, instructor Irene gathered everyone for a 1-minute max push-up challenge. I loved it — the perfect way to connect with riders outside the dark room. We filmed a video, laughed, and it reinforced that LoveCycle isn’t just a workout, it’s a community.
